Learning to count my blessings throughout the day

I'm going to make a list and add to it through the day
that remind me to say thank you when blessings come my way
the things that make me smile or bring a chuckle to my lips
the helping hand or thoughtfulness or handy little tips

The first thank you this morning is to our Shimelle
for sending me the prompt so prompt, for when I opened up my mail
there it was a-sitting at the very top
which brought on a giggle, and made the day start with a pop

I just don't seem to be able to make the rest rhyme but never the less here is my list so far

I am grateful to the team we have now at the church on a Thursday who make light work of all the unpacking and packing up again of the goodies we sell each week in aid of the street orphans in Kenya who we have adopted.

I Thank the prayer team who prayed for my foot (spur heel has flared up again)

I am so grateful that Ann saw how much pain I was in and sent me home early

I am glad I had my bike so didn't have to put pressure on that foot
and that I avoided an accident when I forgot to re-strap my bag on the back, but just felt a gentle tug as the loaded bag slipped to one side.

I am grateful that I have a cosy bed in which to rest.

Although I know that comfort food doesn't really do any good I am glad I can enjoy a cuppa and a choccie biccie or two.

I am even grateful to the pain I am in because it at least reminds me that I am alive

I thank a friend who sent me these words in an email today they seemed so right

Happy moments, praise God
Difficult moments, seek God
Quiet moments, worship God
Painful moments, trust God
Every moment, thank God.

Here is my layout for today

9th When life gets too heavy

I also did this page which I will print out on cardstock and put up in my kitchen to remind me to be thankful every time I look at it
9th Extra

the thankfulness goes on
I have just read Dolly's blog and I am so grateful to her for the way she makes me laugh so often with her entries

Good for you Mary - I love that today's prompt counterbalanced yesterday's (at least in terms of arrival time and your mood!

What a lovely, uplifting post :-) And that quotation is fabulous, I think I'll make a bookmark with it on xx

A place for me to put the pictures of layouts I have done that I am pleased with, to put in the poems I write and to add snippets of things that have caught my eye
