LSNED - Weather - Cameras and Macro photos

What did I learn today?
  • This morning on the way up to the church at 8.00am the mist made the street look like it was back in the 1900s the sun shining through the mist gave the appearance of a sepia world

  • It was the sales at the church as usual on a Thursday. We always do well but somehow whenever Jeremiah comes over (he is the head of the orphanage in Kenya that we collect for) we seem to do even better.
  • I was to take photos of anyone who would like theirs taken with Jeremiah and he also asked me to take some on his camera which is identical to my own so no problem downloading on to my computer all that was taken this morning by both cameras

  • This evening I went outside to take the photo of the street again from the same place to see the difference and discovered a strange phenomenon the sky was lit up in the direction that the sun usually rises I thought I had lost 12 hours never notice that before.

  • I am so glad I have a camera that can go from zoom to super macro without having to change lenses

LSNED

My layout from yesterday's observations inspired by the one done by Paula last year on today's prompt
28th Enjoying a head massage

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
  • It's not good to wake up grumpy
  • Being tense has made my back painful
  • Getting up to the post office to send off a parcel I had to use the bus. But it was good to get the parcel sent to my daughter today as that will mean it should be with her Saturday and she should be in to receive it.
  • The sky tonight was a beautiful colour, I just caught it at the right moment it didn't last all that long
  • Scrapping with friends has helped me relax
  • I'm really enjoying my Paper and Glue scrapping at the moment, and still enjoying Digi scrapping usually it either one or t'other.
  • I love having my hair done at the hairdressers
  • The magazines at the hairdressers this week were full of inspiration for me to use in my digi kits
  • head massage is great
  • I spend too much time on the computer - not a new lesson one I am constantly reminding myself of
  • Except for the first few days I haven't followed the prompt
  • I have enjoy/am enjoying this class
  • I procrastinate tooooooooooo much should have finished parcelling up some goodies for my Skipton family but it is still sitting here waiting for me to do so.
So to my two pages which I have done today
Wet Weather Walk
    • Wet weather walks are fun
    •  boots not as waterproof as I thought
      • A convenient stump or drainage cover makes a good stand for the camera so I can take a self portrait.
        • got lost but was heading in the general right direction so my navigation skills aren't as bad as I thought
        • photos not as good as they could have been. Rain spots on the lens, but then that is to be expected.
            • A nice mocha and a cinnamon swirl in Starbucks was the perfect end to my wet weather walk.
            • I seem to be getting tired a lot lately hope I am not in for anything.
              LSNED - feeling negative - A trip into town Layout
                •  It is so difficult to find a perfect leaf - I want to press some of the autumn colours but most leaves seem to be damaged in some way or other, rather like life there is no such thing as the perfect life.
                • Everything I do in my craft seems to take such a long time.
                • I am feeling negative today, this has got to stop - Find your silver lining
                • I did a new pudding for my sweet today Blackberry and Apple Crunch top. - turned out rather nice and with a dollop of cream on the top really yummy even if rather fattening. the top is made by spritzing a slice of brown bread and a handful of bran flakes with a teaspoon of flora spread and demerara sugar to taste. place in the oven, after the roast dinner has cooked, for about 10 mins (this quantity is for one person of course) I cooked it in an individual ramekin dish
                I have been doing pages of my daughter's wedding photos but don't think I have put them on my blog yet. I know that she looks at my blog occasionally so I putting them here especially for her.
                LSNED layout and My home town
                My layout from yesterday learnings, there really wasn't any choice as I felt so grateful to Jan for the offer of a lift to our Wednesday crops.
                24th A Friend in need
                • I have learnt this morning that it is possible to completely loose an email when trying to move it to another folder. Today's one has gone, vamoose, vanished into cyberland no where to be found. Luckily I had saved the prompt before I tried to move it
                • .On one of Jimjams LSN pages she has used this quote and oh how true I have found it............ ..........'if you don't know where you are going ANY ROAD will lead you there'
                • I'm glad I always carry my camera, if I didn't I would miss so much. I nearly didn't have it today, picked up the case and hadn't realise the camera was still plugged into the computer.
                I love the town centre, the hustle and bustle.
                The fun things to see, and what people do.
                Gathering in groups around entertainers,
                or meeting with friends under the canopy.
                Buying of ice cream or a nice cup of coffee
                Sitting and resting on benches of wood
                There is always something to capture forever
                in my camera's eye and later in a book
                Life for the living enjoyment when I'm lonely
                That's what I love about my home town
                ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
                I know that Dolly nearly always adds a lolcat to her blog but today I just couldn't resist this one
                • Sammy has decided my laptop rucksack is a good place to sleep. Even if I stand it upright she managed to get it flat so she can sleep on it.

                • Rudi has commandeered both cat beds under the radiator

                Discoveries and Lessons

                I went with my rediscovering Fimo for my layout for yesterday. As the tip for today was the use of borders and Amber's layout had this lovely border I wanted to copy the idea

                23rd My love of Fimo

                Discoveries and lessons learn this day 24th September in the year of our Lord 2010

                1. I have 1283 fonts on my computer and yet I still keep adding to them.
                2. I am so untidy my craft spaces are a shambles again just because I have done some scrapping
                3. The only bus that will get me where I want to be for a Wednesday crop will get me there half and hour too early and it is the very last bus. Not sure if I am going to make the midweek crop any more.
                4. When you are tired everything seems negative
                5. As much as I love to stop off for a mocha and a cinnamon swirl in in Starbucks I get too comfortable and don't want to get up and go home.
                6. When you try to do all your printing in one go it is tiring and boring especially cutting down to size once printed.
                7. Even if you don't feel like it, sometimes to go out makes you feel so much better. So I'm glad I went to crop this evening and I did a paper and glue layout that I am pleased with
                8. And My friend says she will pick me up for the midweek crop so I can still go Thank you Jan your a pal
                ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
                Today I am thankful for a good friend who will take me to crop
                for not having anything planned for tomorrow (what I was going to do has been cancelled)
                for another paper layout that I am really pleased with
                  Learning all the time - and Scrapping with Paper is so Tiring
                  • I have had the song 2 little boys on my mind for day - today I realised why, we have three hobby horses for sale up at the church, so every time I see them it triggers the song again
                  • I seem to have phases of scrapping, sometimes I only want to do digital scrapping and just don't see myself ever using paper and glue again, and then it all changes around and all I want to do is mess around with real things
                  • I have rediscovered my Fimo and having some fun
                  • Sometimes you can be just in the right place at the right moment to capture something beautiful. Coming out of a meeting to this wonderful sky, 15 mins later and it was gone.
                  Here is my layout for what I learnt yesterday.
                  Lessons for today - and Remember to clean your lens
                  • When there doesn't seem to be any room in your wardrobe taking out empty hangers helps
                  • Don't jump to conclusions find out the whole story
                  • Blending leftovers with some stock makes a lovely lunchtime soup
                  • How did I manage before the digital age.
                  • When you are tired digital scrapping is much easier than paper and glue scrapping
                  • I can't make good cappuccino coffee at home
                  My layout from yesterday's lesson to get good photos REMEMBER TO CLEAN YOUR LENS
                  21st Remember to clean your lens
                  No. Three Grandson's opinion of the great outdoors
                  I often put layouts on here that are of my grandsons especially my No.1 & No.3 grandsons as my daughter lives so far away that I am not able to share the whole albums with her; I take up too much luggage each time I go that to add an album or two is 'the straw that broke the camels back'. (I have to travel by train and have two changes)
                  So here specially for Helen is the one I started two months ago and finished the early part of this week.
                  What do you think of the great outdoors Ben
                  LSNED - Clean my camera lens before taking photos
                  I woke to a misty moisty morning usually a good sign this time of the year that the weather is going to be lovely by 10.30 when I went out the sun was shining and the sky was blue streaked with vapour trails.
                  I took a photo of course and when I looked down about to see what I had taken I noticed the shadow that my bicycle wheel was making so had to take that as well.
                  • Misty Moisty mornings in September usually mean a brilliant day once the sun has risen properly
                  DSCF7808
                  • The skies in September are a brilliant Blue
                    • I've had a mark on my camera lens all day and it is visible on so many of my photo - Lesson learnt, hopefully, check the lens before you start.
                    DSCF7810
                    • They are doing more work up high in Swindon
                      DSCF7812
                      • There is a tree in the centre of Swindon which I call a runner bean tree, today as I passed the birds were singing away it sounded like a tropical rain forest
                      DSCF7813
                      DSCF7816
                        • Rufus is getting good at posing for the camera
                              DSCF7820
                            • Putting my dinner under the grill to brown off the cheese and walking away, was not a good idea
                              • Burnt cheese doesn't taste as bad as I thought it would
                              My layout from Monday's lessons is about my new clothes
                                • I love going into Paula poet blog and reading what she has penned for the day then adding to it in comments box.
                                Yesterday I added this
                                    Sundays
                                Bacon butties Sunday treat
                                    butter melting good to eat
                                    coffee in my cafeteria
                                    sit in comfort time to spare
                                    leisurely shower then get dressed
                                    not casual clothes but Sunday best
                                    walk to church, meet with friends
                                    then stroll back as morning ends
                                    Dinner cooking smells divine
                                    lay my tray it's time to dine
                                    put my feet up rest a while
                                    Sundays are days to make you smile
                                • I have been told that dark chocolate is good for you and you should eat some everyday - any excuse to have chocolate eh? lol
                                • I have so many digital layouts to print off, having my laptop in the lounge and printer the other end of the bungalow all summer very few have been printed over the last four months
                                • Vegetable risotto is just as yummy as a chicken one, and so quick and easy to do. looks colourful too
                                • I can't buy a dress that fits properly cos I am a size 12 at the top and a size 14 over the hips so have had to go for separates. still they are coordinated
                                • I couldn't resist another skirt
                                • I have no room in my wardrobes, I need to cull.
                                • My signature colour is purple, but I find it so difficult to scrap in that colour
                                here is my layout from yesterday's observations I chose to scrap my wrinkles
                                19th Wrinkles
                                A place for me to put the pictures of layouts I have done that I am pleased with, to put in the poems I write and to add snippets of things that have caught my eye
