Nature's Calendar - Springtime Yellow

This little flower is about 1" in diameter and covers a bush in spring, it grows at the bottom of my garden under the weeping birch tree and is showing this year above the birch a perfusion of little yellow balls does anyone know what it is called?

I think it might be Kerria Japonica, I had one in a shady part of my last garden, such a gorgeous golden yellow.
