this tree is absolutely laden with Sloes but they are too high and behind a tall bank of stinging nettles, shame really they would be lovely to pick and make jam or sloe gin
Lovely shot, Mary - you wouldn't guess they were up out of reach. A friend makes sloe gin each year, for Christmas. She says they always wait til after the first frost, because otherwise they berries are bitter. But I don't know what they'll have done this year - it's the second week in November and not a sign of frost yet!
Our sloes this year have been hopeless! And we had been looking forward to trying out some sloe gin again! I see Lizzie says she hasn't had frost yet - we have.
A place for me to put the pictures of layouts I have done that I am pleased with, to put in the poems I write and to add snippets of things that have caught my eye
