Scrapping Spree

I've really been on a scrapping spree this weekend and I've also done two today.
This first one is for the weekly challenge on UKScrappers. Challenge criteria to use black cardstock, Celebration theme and Freebies. The freebies I used where my own that I had previously made available here

The other page I have done today is rather different and not sure that it is really a layout, this is for another of the challenges on Shimelle's blog. To use the words I love you for the title

Nature's Calendar - Rose

I don't have many flowers in my garden (I am no gardener) but I do have a climbing/rambling rose (can never remember what is the difference) that does exceptionally well even though I never touch it.

Scrapping again

I'm still doing some of the challenges from Shimelle's CC this one for the colour challenge and I also used a sketch from Sketch Support (card sketch)


This next one is the retro challenge which is to use an old photo. Surprisingly I don't think I have scrapped this one before yet I did have it on my computer. Again I have used a card sketch for sketch support


This is the last one I'll do today and it is for the Half Page challenge. Although I often do a page with plenty of white space and often in one half of the page I very seldom (if ever) make the 'white space' so busy so that for me was the real challenge.


Thank you Shimelle I have had some fun this weekend and am pleased with the pages I have produced even if they are mainly digital.

I know that this is not completely in focus, but at 6.40 in this morning the light wasn't very good and even putting the camera on the tripod I struggled. I really wanted to add this one though because of its minuteness

Scrapping today

Hi fellow bloggers/scrapbookers Shimelle has a Scrapping weekend and so I have been joining it a little bit. Yesterday I did her Weekly Sketch challenge

and I have just finished the Starting Point challenge and turned mine into a double page.



This morning I was at my local crop and for the first time in months I have done and finished a paper page (not one of the challenges though)

looking at this again it could be one of the challenges as the only thing I've used on here that isn't paper is the buttons the monkeys are cut from one of the papers and the tags from another.

10 on the 10th - A Day of Play

Good Morning on a sunny 10th August (well it was sunny when I started this post). My 10 this month are photos I took yesterday, of my nearly 2 year old grandson. We spent the day at play, he had fun on the different playgrounds I had fun with my camera capturing his activities. Apart from one ride on the RLNI boat it was all for free.

I am so lucky with where I live, I can take a walk down the back lane to Asda and on the way pass 3 or 4 different play areas I have been longing to take Rufus to some of them, but since they have moved I usually pick him up in town therefore have not had this opportunity. Yesterday Neil brought him over to me so I knew exactly what I wanted to do with him.
I eventually remembered to set my camera on High speed continuous shooting so I could capture just the right moment. I wish I had thought of doing this before with my grandsons as it is often so difficult to get them to stay still long enough to get the perfect shot.

Scapping tonight

Well really scrapping on and off all day very naughty especially as the bungalow could do with some attention.
I have done the weekly challenge on UKScrappers. we have a sketch from Pagemaps last one on this page they are great sketches to work from.
We had to include the Letter 'H' in our title (The Haslington Crop girls challenge) use a group or group of photos and Stars
Here is what I produced

I have been fiddling with a colour chart from Design seeds

although these colours were too hot for the photos I played around with the whole chart and came up with a pleasing combination that allowed me to use the sploshes as a background paper.

This was also for a challenge on UKScrappers, again we had a sketch and we had to use mixed alphas for the title

Yes this is just a weed but when you look closely at it like this you can see the complexity therein. Such detail for something that most times we ignore.

Story Telling Sunday

It's story time again hosted by the lovely Sian From High in the Sky

Once upon a time (all good stories start like that) there was a girl and boy. There were sister and brother and although they played together quite well they didn't always agree. Especially about things they DIDN'T want " I don't want this pencil you have it" "no I don't want it you have it" and so the pencil got thrown around the room. One of their favourite games was 5 stones, little coloured cubes of what felt like stone, but probably wasn't.

The idea of the game is to throw the stones up and catch as many as you can on the back of your hand, any that dropped had to be picked up in a certain way. Throw one of the caught stones up in the air, pick the fallen stone and catch the airborne one. Oh dear Oh dear did that cause arguments between the brother and sister. Mother would come in and confiscate the stones, but the brother and sister either found them or bought new ones the next day.
One year on holiday the sister, who was the eldest by nearly three years (or as the brother would say 2 years 11 months), had a camera. In those days cameras were not cheap so she was very lucky to have it. To open it you clicked a little catch and the lens came out on a sort or bellows. The brother had been teasing her all morning with a water pistol. "I want to take your photo over there by the flower bed, but I don't want that awful water pistol in the photo so put it away". Photo duly taken and low and behold when the film was developed there, just under the boy's leg, was the end of the pistol. He was determined to get his own way

Brothers are so annoying aren't they.

The Teasels seem to be very prolific this year and the bees are making the most of them. Most bumblebees are black and orange but I saw one today that was black and white. Not sure if it is a different specie or just an odd one.

A little break - Photo Scavenger Hunt

I have bought myself an update of my programme I use for scrapping and it is taking forever to get it set up. Trouble is I make so many embellishments and leave them as Serif files so the only place to store them is in Serif Gallery, but I can't find a way of importing them in bulk from the old programme to the new. So it is a time consuming job, and I needed a break from it.
